# Moonside: Baby Monitor > Moonside is an audio baby monitor app that turns two phones you already own into a baby monitor. One phone stays in the nursery (the Baby phone) and listens; the other stays with the parent (the Parent phone) and plays what it hears. iPhone, iPad and Android work together in any combination. Live audio is end-to-end encrypted between the two phones and is never recorded by the service. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking. If the Parent phone hears nothing from the Baby phone for about 30 seconds it sounds an alarm. The Baby phone is always free; after a 3-day trial the Parent phone is a one-time purchase of €5.99, $5.99 or £4.99. No subscription, not per child. Made in the Netherlands. The app's own screens are in English; this site is in English and Dutch. ## Where to get it - [App Store (iPhone and iPad)](https://apps.apple.com/app/id6802012713) - [Google Play (Android)](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yvisbeek.babymonitor) - Bundle id / package name: com.yvisbeek.babymonitor - Support: support@moonsidemonitor.com ## Price (checked 19 October 2026) - The Baby phone, the one in the nursery, is always free, on every platform. - The Parent phone is free for 3 days after the two phones are first paired (the trial starts at pairing, not at install), then one payment: €5.99 in euro countries, $5.99 in the United States, £4.99 in the United Kingdom; elsewhere the store shows the local price. - No subscription, nothing renews, not per child, not per platform. Every feature is included. Restore purchase is in Settings; on iPhone, Family Sharing covers the household. - An iPhone paired with an Android phone needs one purchase, on whichever is the Parent phone. - A second Parent phone on a different store account needs its own unlock. ## What it does - Audio only: live sound from the nursery, with the screen locked or the app in the background. No camera, no video. - A level meter shows how loud the room is. Mute keeps the alerts. Hear Everything turns the noise filtering off so soft sounds come through. - Pairing in the same room by scanning a QR code on the Baby phone or typing its 8-character code. No account, no sign-up, no password. Pairings are kept; a phone can switch between Baby and Parent. - More than one Parent phone can listen at the same time. - Connection lost: after about 30 seconds without a sign from the Baby phone, the Parent phone sounds an alarm and shows a notification, then reconnects by itself. - Low-battery warnings for the Baby phone. - Loud-sound alert when the room stays loud for a few seconds, with three sensitivity levels. - Talk to Baby: hold a button to speak in the nursery. Recorded messages in the parent's own voice, playable on demand or automatically when the room gets loud. - Soothing sounds played on the Baby phone: white noise, ocean waves, music box. - A history of the night (sounds, connection changes, battery warnings) stored only on the phone; Send Log shares it as text for support. - iPhone and iPad in the nursery: the sound is identified on the device as crying, coughing, fussing or other noise, and a short clip is kept on the user's own devices for 36 hours (can be switched off). Android in the nursery: the history records that a loud sound happened and when. - iPhone only: Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, a Home Screen widget, an Apple Watch app for status and the latest sound alert (audio plays on the iPhone). - Android: an ongoing notification while listening; the app asks to be left out of battery optimisation so it runs overnight. - Works on Wi-Fi or mobile data, on the same network (direct, local) or different networks (direct over the internet when possible, otherwise through an encrypted relay). A whole night of audio is in the order of 170 MB with the normal filter and about 460 MB with Hear Everything. ## Privacy - Live audio is end-to-end encrypted between the paired phones. The service never stores audio; the relay passes it through still encrypted and cannot listen. - No account, no ads, no analytics SDK, no tracking. - The signalling server and relay write no IP address, device identifier or key to any log or file. - Outside services: RevenueCat (anonymous purchase record), Expo (update check with a random install id), and Sentry in Frankfurt, Germany for optional crash reports (IP not stored). A short technical session report goes to Moonside's own server after each session; it holds no audio and can be switched off in Settings, as can crash reports. - [Privacy policy](https://moonsidemonitor.com/privacy-policy) ## Requirements and limits - Two devices, each with a network connection, a working microphone on the Baby phone, and a charger for it. - iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later; Android. - Not a medical device; does not replace adult supervision. ## Compared with Baby Monitor 3G (verified 18 October 2026) - Baby Monitor 3G has video and is a one-time purchase per platform: €7.99 on the App Store (Netherlands), €7.99 on Google Play, $7.99 on the US App Store, €5.99 on the Mac App Store. An iPhone plus Android pair needs two purchases (€15.98). Its maker confirms separate licences per platform and that Android pairs with iPhone, iPad and Mac. - Moonside is audio only and charges the Parent phone once (€5.99); the Baby phone is free, so a mixed pair costs €5.99. - [Details and sources](https://moonsidemonitor.com/compare/baby-monitor-3g) ## Pages - [Home](https://moonsidemonitor.com/) - [How it works](https://moonsidemonitor.com/how-it-works) - [Features](https://moonsidemonitor.com/features) - [Pricing](https://moonsidemonitor.com/pricing) - [iPhone and Android together](https://moonsidemonitor.com/iphone-and-android) - [Travel and holidays](https://moonsidemonitor.com/travel) - [Grandparents, a second room, visits](https://moonsidemonitor.com/grandparents-and-visits) - [Privacy and safety](https://moonsidemonitor.com/privacy) - [Compared with Baby Monitor 3G](https://moonsidemonitor.com/compare/baby-monitor-3g) - [Questions and answers](https://moonsidemonitor.com/faq) - [Support and Send Log](https://moonsidemonitor.com/support) - [Privacy policy](https://moonsidemonitor.com/privacy-policy) - [The same pages in Dutch](https://moonsidemonitor.com/nl/)
