At the grandparents', in a second room, on a visit

A baby monitor is usually bought for one nursery. Life has more rooms than that. Moonside is cheap enough, and quick enough to set up, to be the monitor everywhere else too.

The monitor that lives at grandma's

Most grandparents have an old phone in a drawer. Pair it with your phone once, during a visit, and leave it there as the Baby phone. From then on, every visit starts with plugging it in next to the travel cot and tapping Baby. The pairing is kept, there is no account to remember, and the Baby phone is always free, so a phone that is not signed in to any store account works just as well.

Grandparents who babysit can be a Parent phone too. More than one Parent phone can listen at the same time, and a phone can switch between Baby and Parent whenever you like.

A second room at home

Visits and sleepovers

At a friend's house the travel cot is in a room at the other end of the hall, and the hardware monitor stayed at home. Two phones, a charger and a minute of pairing give you the same evening you would have had at home, including the alarm if the connection drops and the warning when the Baby phone's battery runs low.

Keep it honest with yourself

Moonside tells you when it has lost the nursery, warns about a low battery, and alerts you when the room gets loud. It does not watch your child for you. Use it the way you would use any baby monitor: within reach, with an adult responsible. It is not a medical device.
